Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Methi leaves (chopped)
• 1 – Tomato (crushed)
• 2 – Garlic Cloves (crushed)
• 1 tsp – Lemon juice
• 1 tbsp – homemade rasam powder
• 1 cup – cooked dal water
• 1/2 cup – water
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp – asafetida powder
• 2 – dry Red Chillies
• 2 tsp – Coriander leaves (chopped)
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Salt – to taste

Method:

  1. Take the cooked dal water, crushed garlic cloves, crushed tomatoes, homemade rasam powder and water with enough salt together in a bowl.
  2. Heat enough oil and add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chillies and asafoetida powder and let them fry.
  3. Add immediately the chopped methi leaves and saute until they shrink.
  4. Now add the dal-spice water.
  5. Once it starts bubbling, keep on simmer and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Finally add the lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves and put off the stove.
  7. Serve hot with rice and any spicy side dishes.
