
Ingredients:
• Button Mushroom – 200 gms, sliced
• Red gram (tovar) dal – 250 gms
• Tomato – 150 gms, cut into quarters
• oil – 2 tbsp
• Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
• Garlic – 8 flakes, sliced
• green chillies, chopped and crushed – 3 to 4
• Onion – 1 cup, sliced
• Fenugreek leaves, chopped – 1 cup
• chilli powder – 1 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• coriander powder – 1 tsp
• salt to taste
Method:
- Cook dal with enough water till soft and mash till smooth.
- Heat oil in kadai. Add mustard seeds.
- When they pop, add garlic and fry till dark brown.
- Add green chilli and onion and fry till golden brown.
- Add fenugreek leaves and all the powders.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Add tomato, mushroom and salt.
- Add 1/2 cup of water and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add dal and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
