Ingredients:

• 1/2 inch piece – Cinnamon
• 1 – Cardamom
• 2 – Cloves
• 1 cup – moong dal
• 1 medium size – Onion
• 1 – Tomato
• 1 – Green chilli
• 1 pinch – Turmeric powder
• 2 tsp – chilli powder
• 3 – 4 – chopped Garlic
• 1 – medium size Lemon
• 3 tsp – oil

Method:

  1. Dry roast moong dal for a few mins till the aroma is released.
  2. Pressure cook dal with 1/4 cup of water till mushy and keep aside.
  3. In a kadai, heat oil, add cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and saute well.
  4. Add chilli, garlic and onion and keep sauteing till onions are fried well.
  5. Now add tomato and fry for 2 mins.
  6. Add turmeric and chilli powder.
  7. Add mashed moong dal and 1/2 cup water.
  8. Leave it to boil for 5 mins.
  9. Squeeze lemon while serving.
