Ingredients:

• Mutton chops – 1 kg
• Sambar Onion (shallots) – 100 gm, peeled
• Garlic 8 cloves, sliced
• Ginger – 1 tbsp, sliced
• Cinnamon 2 or 3 piece
• Tomato – 1/2 kg, chopped
• Chana dal (bengal gram dal) – 1 tbsp
• thick Coconut Milk – 1/2 cup
• dry Red Chillies – 15
• Coriander seeds – 2 tsp
• Cumin seeds – 2 tsp
• Fennel seeds (sounf) – 1 tsp
• black pepper Corns – 1 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• oil – 3 tbsp
• Onion – 1 cup, sliced
• Curry leaves few
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Combine all the ingredients from chops to salt.
  2. Add 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile roast and powder all the ingredients from red chilies to chana dal.
  4. Mix with turmeric powder. Add the powder to cooked chops with coconut milk.
  5. Boil steadily till most of the liquid is evaporated and the masala is thick enough to coat the chops.
  6. Heat oil in a small fry pan.
  7. Fry onion till dark brown.
  8. Add curry leaves.
  9. Pour this over the chops and mix well.
