Ingredients:
• Mutton chops – 1 kg
• Sambar Onion (shallots) – 100 gm, peeled
• Garlic 8 cloves, sliced
• Ginger – 1 tbsp, sliced
• Cinnamon 2 or 3 piece
• Tomato – 1/2 kg, chopped
• Chana dal (bengal gram dal) – 1 tbsp
• thick Coconut Milk – 1/2 cup
• dry Red Chillies – 15
• Coriander seeds – 2 tsp
• Cumin seeds – 2 tsp
• Fennel seeds (sounf) – 1 tsp
• black pepper Corns – 1 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• oil – 3 tbsp
• Onion – 1 cup, sliced
• Curry leaves few
• salt to taste
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients from chops to salt.
- Add 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile roast and powder all the ingredients from red chilies to chana dal.
- Mix with turmeric powder. Add the powder to cooked chops with coconut milk.
- Boil steadily till most of the liquid is evaporated and the masala is thick enough to coat the chops.
- Heat oil in a small fry pan.
- Fry onion till dark brown.
- Add curry leaves.
- Pour this over the chops and mix well.
