
Ingredients:
• Button Mushroom – 500 g, sliced
• Coconut Milk – 200 ml
• Tamarind – 2 cm ball
• Chilli powder – 1 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Cumin seed – 1 tsp
• Mustard – 1 tsp
• Roasted Peanuts – 3 tbsp
• Green chillies – 3 to 4, chopped
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Garlic – 8 flakes, crushed
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Grind tamarind, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, mustard, peanuts and green chillies to prepare a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Add garlic and fry until brown.
- Add the paste and fry until you can smell the fragrance.
- Add the mushrooms, salt and 1/2 cup of water.
- Simmer for 3-4 mins.
- Add coconut milk.
- Bring to a boil and remove from the flame.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
