Ingredients:

• 2 medium size – Zucchini
• 2 cups – moong dal
• 1 tsp – sambar powder
• Salt as required
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• 3 tsp – Jeera
• 1 tsp – mustard
• 3-4 – Green chillies
• 2 – Red Chillies
• Chopped coriander to garnish

Method:

  1. Wash and drain the dal and cook until soft.
  2. Dice the zucchini and add sambar powder, salt and asafoetida. Cook until soft and mushy.
  3. Add the dal to the vegetable and mix well.
  4. Crackle mustard; add urad dal, jeera, green chillies and red chillies.
  5. Pour it over the dal. Garnish with chopped coriander.
  6. If needed squeeze some lemon over the top.
  7. Serve with rice/chapatti.
