Ingredients:
• 3 cups – All-purpose flour
• 2 tsp – Active Dry yeast
• 1 tsp – Salt
• 1 tsp – Sugar
• 1.25 cup – Warm water
• 4 tbsp – Olive oil (shaping, greasing, for drizzling)
• 1pinch Salt (for topping)
• 10 – Black seedless Olives
• 1 tsp – Dry Basil leaves
Method:
- Mix the sugar, salt and yeast in lukewarm water and let them sit for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, take the all-purpose flour in a mixing bowl and add the foaming yeast. Mix everything well and transfer them to lightly floured surface and knead to form a soft dough.
- Coat a deep bowl with olive oil and place the soft dough. Brush with more oil, cover it and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place. After an hour it will almost double in size.
- Place the dough in a round baking pan.
- Mix both the dry basil leaves with 1 tsp of olive oil and keep aside.
- Apply a few drops of oil to the baking pan and press the dough to flatten them and let it sit again for 1 hour. The dough will again rise and double in size.
- Press the dough with your fingertips and drizzle some oil. Place seedless olives over them and brush the dough with basil-oil mixture and sprinkle the salt.
- Preheat the oven to 475 Fahrenheit and place the baking pan on the middle rack and bake for 15 minutes or till the dough turns slightly brown.
- Serve with cream cheese and salads.
