Ingredients:
• 1 – Medium-sized Onion (finely chopped)
• 1 – bunch pudina/mint leaves (finely chopped, make sure there are no stalks)
• 4 to 5 – Green chillies finely chopped into tiny pieces
• A handful of dry Peanuts
• A pinch of chaat masala (optional)
• For the batter:
• Two cups – Besan/Gram flour
• 1 tsp – chilly powder
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• One cup – water
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Mix all the ingredients for the batter in a bowl with water to make a fine paste.
- Make sure the paste isn’t too watery but not too thick either. It would help to add the water little by little so that you get the right consistency.
- Add the chopped onions, mint leaves, green chillies, and peanuts to the batter. Mix well.
- Heat enough oil in a kadai for deep-frying.
- Take a small handful of the batter, enough to make a ball and slip it into the oil.
- Repeat till the batter with all the other ingredients are finished.
- Fry till golden brown and take it out of the oil.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or by itself.
