Ingredients:
• 250 g – Paneer (cottage cheese).
• 2 cups – fresh peas.
• 3 – medium sized onions.
• 6 – medium sized tomatoes.
• 6 Cloves – garlic.
• 1 tsp – shredded ginger.
• 2 tsp – shredded coconut.
• 2 – cloves.
• 1 tsp – Cinnamon powder.
• 1 – elaichi.
• 6 – cashew nuts.
• 2 – almonds.
• 1 tbsp – oil.
• 1 tsp – Haldi powder.
• 2 tsp – garam masala.
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder.
• Chopped coriander or cilantro.
• 1 tsp – butter.
• Onion and Lemon to garnish.
Method:
- Steam peas for 10 mins or till they become soft.
- Cut paneer into small square pieces and deep fry in oil till they become brown.
- Put ginger, garlic, onions, cloves, elaichi, coconut, cinnamon, cashews and almonds in the blender. Make a fine paste out of them.
- Also, make tomato paste out of tomatoes and a pinch of sugar.
- In a frying pan, put 1/2 tbsp of oil and add the ginger garlic paste.
- When it becomes brown, add tomato paste.
- Add haldi, chilli powder and garam masala.
- Add 1 cup of water. Let the mixture boil for 5 mins.
- Now, add paneer pieces and boil for 10 mins in medium flame.
- Once the paneer becomes soft, add the cooked peas and switch off the stove.
- Add coriander and 1 tsp of butter on top of the masala.
- Serve with fresh onion pieces and lemon pieces.
