Ingredients:
• 2 cups – basmati rice.
• 4 cups – water.
• 1 – onion, chopped.
• 1 Capsicum – remove seeds and cut into thin strips.
• 10 Cloves – garlic, chopped fine.
• 1/2 cup – shelled peas.
• 1 tsp – chilli powder.
• 1 tsp – garam masala.
• Salt to taste.
• oil.
Method:
- Wash and soak rice in water for 15 mins in a cooker.
- Heat oil and fry the garlic and onions till brown and add this to the rice in the cooker.
- Add the shelled peas, salt, garam masala and chilli powder.
- Mix gently and cook till rice is done.
- Serve the rice with fried capsicum strips and finely chopped fried carrots.
