Ingredients:

• Green Tomatoes – 300 g (cut into pieces)
• Green chillies -5 (each, cut into 2)
• Urad Dal – 1 tsp
• Channa dal – 2 tsp
• Til – 1 tsp
• Mustard Seeds -1/2 tsp
• Curry Patta leaves – 6
• Tamarind paste – 1/2 tsp
• Red Chilli -1, broken into pieces
• Peeled Garlic – 5
• Onion – 1, small (chopped fine)
• Hing – a pinch
• Salt – to taste
• Chopped Coriander leaves – 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Dry fry dals and til untill light brown, powder, keep it aside.
  2. Heat 1 tsp oil, add green chilli, tomato, peeled garlic, fry for 2 mins, put it in a mixie, run it for few secs, add tamarind, masala powder and salt, run it for a sec, remove into a bowl.
  3. Heat remaining oil, add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, red chilli, lastly onion pieces, remove from fire when mustard crackles and onion becomes soft.
  4. Pour this over prepared chutney, mix well, sprinkle chopped coriander and mix.
  5. Serve with dosa/ idli.
