Ingredients:

• Rice flour – 1/2 cup
• Maida – 1/2 cup
• Chiroti Rawa- 1/2 cup
• hot oil – 2 tbsp
• Green chillies – 3-4, minced
• Onion – 2 tbsp, finely chopped
• salt – to taste

Method:

  1. Soak rice in water for half an hour and dry it in a cloth for half an hour.
  2. When still damp grind in the mill to a fine powder.
  3. Sieve the flour and fry it in a kadai to remove the excess dampness in the flour if any.
  4. Sieve the flour again.
  5. To this flour add butter, salt, coconut, sesame seeds, gram dal, asafedita and mix well.
  6. Add water and make a soft dough out of it.
  7. Apply some coconut oil in the palm of our hand and take a lemon sized ball of the dough and pat it to make a small circle.
  8. Deep fry in hot oil.
  9. Fold in lightly.
  10. Stir in fruit and chopped nuts.
  11. At a time, 10 to 15 thattai can be put in the oil.
  12. Remove after the oil has stopped bubbling.
  13. Tasty thattai is ready.
