Ingredients:
• 1 – whole Milk
• 3/4 cup – Sugar
• 1/4 cup – basmati Rice
• 1/2 cup – makhanas
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1 tbsp – chopped mixed nuts (almonds & pistachios)
• 1 tsp – Ghee
Method:
- Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 20 minutes.
- Drain out all water from rice in a colander.
- Heat a heavy saucepan, add ghee.
- Melt, add rice and stir-fry with spatula for a minute.
- Add half milk, half cup hot water.
- Stir gently till mixture starts to boil.
- Simmer on low till rice is half done.
- Add remaining milk, bring back to boil.
- Add all other ingredients, stir till boiling resumes.
- Simmer on low, till rice is fully cooked.
- Serve hot or cold, garnished with some chopped nuts.
