Ingredients:
• 250g – Paneer (cut into cubes)
• 200g – Green peas (peeled)
• 5 tbsp – oil
• 3 medium-sized – Onions (finely chopped)
• 2 – Green chillies (finely chopped)
• 4 medium sized – Tomatoes (finely chopped)
• 1 inch piece – Ginger (crushed)
• 1.5 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 2 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 cups – water
• oil for deep frying
• finely chopped Coriander leaves (to garnish)
• salt to taste
Method:
- Deep fry the paneer pieces till it is golden in colour and keep it aside.
- Lightly heat oil in a heavy bottom vessel, saute onions and green chillies on a low flame till the onions are golden in colour.
- Add the tomatoes, ginger and salt.
- Cook on a low flame till the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the powdered masalas and cook till the oil separates.
- Remove it from the stove and blend the onion tomato mixture.
- Add the green peas and saute on a low flame for 8-10 mins.
- Add water and cook on a low flame till the peas are done.
- Add the paneer pieces and simmer for a few minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot with steamed rice.
