Ingredients:

• 1 cup of semolina (suji)
• small quantity of gram flour (besan/optional)
• 1-1.5 cups – Ghee
• 2 cups of Sugar (approx. double the amount of suji)
• 4 cups of water
• Coconut powder for flavour
• Cardamom powder
• Musk melon seeds (khurbuja ke beej)
• Mixture of chopped cashew nuts, Almonds
• 2-3 threads of saffron(kesar)

Method:

  1. Mix semolina (suji) and desi ghee in a heavy pan. Stir it continuously on medium flame.
  2. When the mixture becomes light brown in colour, add gram flour.
  3. Stir it until the mixture becomes golden brown in colour.
  4. Add water and sugar. Stir it continuously on high flame.
  5. Turn off the gas when the mixture gets its desired consistency.
  6. Add musk melon seeds and threads of saffron in it.
  7. Serve it hot.
  8. Garnish it with coconut powder, cardamom powder and with dry fruit mixture.
