Ingredients:
• 1 cup of semolina (suji)
• small quantity of gram flour (besan/optional)
• 1-1.5 cups – Ghee
• 2 cups of Sugar (approx. double the amount of suji)
• 4 cups of water
• Coconut powder for flavour
• Cardamom powder
• Musk melon seeds (khurbuja ke beej)
• Mixture of chopped cashew nuts, Almonds
• 2-3 threads of saffron(kesar)
Method:
- Mix semolina (suji) and desi ghee in a heavy pan. Stir it continuously on medium flame.
- When the mixture becomes light brown in colour, add gram flour.
- Stir it until the mixture becomes golden brown in colour.
- Add water and sugar. Stir it continuously on high flame.
- Turn off the gas when the mixture gets its desired consistency.
- Add musk melon seeds and threads of saffron in it.
- Serve it hot.
- Garnish it with coconut powder, cardamom powder and with dry fruit mixture.
