
Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg – cocktail prawns.
• 1 cup – chopped onions.
• 1 cup – peeled and chopped tomatoes.
• 2 tbsp – butter.
• 1 to 2 – bay leaves.
• 1 tsp – cumin seeds.
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• 1/4 tsp – black pepper powder.
• 1/4 tsp – garam masala.
• 1/2 tsp – Tabasco sauce.
• 1/2 tsp – Ginger paste.
• 1/4 tsp – pepper powder.
• 1/4 tsp – Dhania powder.
• 1/4 tsp – chilli powder.
• 1/4 tsp – vinegar.
• 2 – green chillies.
• Fresh coriander for garnishing.
• Salt to taste.
• 1 – lemon.
• 1/4 tsp – Garlic paste.
Method:
- Peel and clean the prawns.
- Add salt, Tabasco sauce, pepper powder, half the lemon juice, ginger paste and vinegar. Keep aside for 20-30 mins.
- In a pan, heat butter and fry the cumin seeds, bay leaves and slit chillies.
- Add onions. Fry till light pink.
- Add garlic paste and the marinated prawns.
- Cook for a while and add tomatoes. Cook till it softens.
- Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala and dhania powder.
- Cover and cook till water from prawns evaporates.
- Add the remaining lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve with rice or parathas.
