Ingredients:

• 2 – potatoes, medium size
• 3 tbsp – Poppy Seeds soaked in water and ground into a fine paste
• 1/2 tsp – Panchpuran (a mixture of cumin, coriander, fennel, Fenugreek and Onion seeds)
• 1 – hot chilli pepper, cut into small pieces
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• Salt to taste
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1 cup – water

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan (kadai), put panchpuran.
  2. When panchpuran starts spluttering put potatoes and poppy seeds paste, turmeric powder and fry it for two minutes.
  3. Add water, salt, chilli pieces and put a cover on the pan and allow it to cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Serve with rice and dal.
