Ingredients:
• 1 -large Onion
• 3-4- small ripe Tomatoes
• A few- Garlic pods
• A small bunch – Coriander leaves and Curry leaves
• 1/2 cup -freshly grated Coconut
• 1 tbsp each – Channa dal and Urud dal
• 4- dry Red Chillies
Method:
- Slice the onion into large pieces and chop the tomatoes into large pieces and set aside.
- In a heavy bottom kadai, pour in a tbsp of oil and fry the dals and red chillies.
- When it changes colour, add in the onion and garlic.
- Let it become transparent and not brown.
- Add in the tomatoes and cover it with a lid.
- Turn off the flame.
- When the above mixture cools add coconut, curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt. Now grind this mixture in a blender without adding water. You may season this with mustard.
