Ingredients:

• 1 -large Onion
• 3-4- small ripe Tomatoes
• A few- Garlic pods
• A small bunch – Coriander leaves and Curry leaves
• 1/2 cup -freshly grated Coconut
• 1 tbsp each – Channa dal and Urud dal
• 4- dry Red Chillies

Method:

  1. Slice the onion into large pieces and chop the tomatoes into large pieces and set aside.
  2. In a heavy bottom kadai, pour in a tbsp of oil and fry the dals and red chillies.
  3. When it changes colour, add in the onion and garlic.
  4. Let it become transparent and not brown.
  5. Add in the tomatoes and cover it with a lid.
  6. Turn off the flame.
  7. When the above mixture cools add coconut, curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt. Now grind this mixture in a blender without adding water. You may season this with mustard.
