Ingredients:
• 2 cups – moong dal
• 2 tsp Coriander seeds
• 4 Onions (chopped finely)
• 5 green chillies, chopped
• 1.5 bunch coriander leaves, finely chopped
• Salt to taste
• For the gravy:
• 6 onions, chopped finely
• 1 cup grated Coconut
• 1 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 5 Red Chillies
• Salt to taste
• Oil as required
Method:
- Soak moong dal in water for about 5-6 hours.
- Grind it to a fine paste with coriander seeds, onions, green chillies and salt.
- Flatten and steam cook the batter.
- When it is cool, cut into cubes.
- Fry the chopped onions, coriander seeds, red chillies and coconut and grind it into a fine paste.
- Fry the paste in oil.
- Add salt to taste and enough water to make a gravy.
- When oil is separated from the masala, add the dal cubes and cook on a low fire.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
