Ingredients:
• 250 g – Refined flour or Maida
• 50 g – cocoa powder
• 300 g – Sugar powdered
• 250 g – Butter
• 5 – eggs
• 2 tsp – Nescafe
• 1 tsp – vanilla essence
• 2 level tsp – baking powder
Method:
- Sift the cocoa powder, Nescafe, flour and baking powder together.
- Cream the butter and sugar together well.
- Add eggs one by one and mix well.
- Add the vanilla essence.
- Now add the sifted flour with the other ingredients and fold in the mixture to form a smooth slightly thick consistency without lumps.
- Add a little milk if the batter is too thick.
- Pour into a greased and papered baking dish or cake tin and bake in a hot oven for 40 to 45 Minutes till done.
- Chocolate icing: Beat 6 tbsp butter and 500 g sifted icing sugar together until creamy.
- Add 3 tbsps milk, 1 tsp vanilla essence, 1/4 tsp salt and 2 tbsps cocoa.
- Powder and stir until smooth.
- Using a spatula, cover the cake with chocolate icing.
- Decorate as desired.
