
Ingredients:
• 12 to 15 – tender silverbeet stalks
• 1 – onion, finely chopped
• 1 or 2 flakes – garlic, crushed
• 2 – green chillies, slit vertically
• 1 tbsp – Corn flour
• 1/2 tsp – crushed mixed herbs, dried
• 1 tbsp – Olive oil
• Few granules Sugar
• salt to taste
Method:
- Chop stalks finely, chop greens coarsely.
- Wash and drain greens.
- Dissolve corn flour in 1/4 cup water, keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add onions, garlic, stir-fry till soft and pink.
- Add green chillies, stir-fry for a minute.
- Add chopped greens, sugar, salt, cover and cook for 2-3 mins.
- Take off lid, add corn flour paste, mix well and bring to a boil.
- Add crushed herbs, stir, take off fire.
- Serve hot with either steamed rice, white pulao or puries.
