Ingredients:

• 200 g – Peanuts/groundnuts.
• 2 – Onions, small/medium sized.
• 3 – green chillies.
• 3 – Dry red chillies.
• 5 – Curry leaves.
• Fresh coriander leaves.
• Small Lemon sized – tamarind, soaked in 1/2 cup water.
• Salt to taste.
• 2 tbsp – oil.

Method:

  1. Roast the peanuts in a kadai until brown.
  2. Allow the peanuts to cool and remove the skin.
  3. Heat 1/2 tsp oil in a pan and saute the onions, the green chillies and the red chillies.
  4. For the chutney.
  5. Grind the onions, green chillies, red chillies, tamarind juice, peanuts and salt together to form a paste.
  6. Pour this in a serving bowl, add the sauteed onions and chillies to it.
  7. Heat oil in a pan, splutter the mustard seeds and curry leaves. Season the chutney with this.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve with dosa, idli or rotis.
