
Ingredients:
• For the pastry:
• 225 g plain flour
• A pinch of salt
• 100g – Butter cut in cubes
• 1 – Egg beaten
• 1-2 tsp – icing Sugar
• For the filling:
• 100g – Butter melted
• 450g – cooking apples
• 75g – Sugar
• 75g – Raisins
• 1 tsp – ground mixed spices
Method:
- Sift the flour and salt in a bowl.
- Add butter cubes and rub until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs.
- Add the beaten egg and mix into smooth dough.
- Chill this in fridge for 30 minutes.
- Pre heat oven to 230 degrees C.
- Roll out the pastry to a desired shape (rectangle or square).
- Brush it with melted butter.
- Mix the remaining ingredients together and sprinkle over the pastry.
- Roll up and brush it with melted butter.
- Bake for 15 minutes, reduce heat and bake for another 15 minutes. Cool.
- Before serving, add icing sugar.
