
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – Rice
• 1/2 cups – Corn
• 1 – Onion
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 1/2 inch – Cinnamon stick
• 2 – Cloves
• 1 cup – water
• Oil – as required
• To Grind:
• 1 – Tomato
• 1 tbsp – Ginger
• 4 – Garlic pods
• 1/2 cup – Coriander leaves
• 3 – Green chillies
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 1/4 inch – Cinnamon stick
• 2 – Cloves
• 10 – Cashew nuts
Method:
- Wash rice and soak in water for a while.
- Meanwhile, chop the onions.
- Grind all the ingredients under the ‘To grind’ list into a fine paste by adding water and keep aside.
- Cook the corn and keep aside.
- Heat enough oil in a pressure cooker and fry the cinnamon stick, cloves and bay leaf.
- Immediately add the onions and saute until they become translucent.
- Now add the ground paste and saute for few minutes.
- Drain the water from the rice, add it to the cooker along with the cooked corn, and saute for a few minutes.
- Finally add enough salt and 2 cups of water.
- Cook till 2-3 whistles.
