Ingredients:

• 2 cups -lentil dal
• 1 handful -green Spinach leaves
• 4 – 5 -red chillies
• 1 tsp -salt
• 1- Ginger small piece
• 4 -5 -mint leaves
• 1 pinch -asafoetida
• oil

Method:

  1. Soak lentil dal for 2 to 3 hours.
  2. Chop the spinach leaves into small pieces.
  3. Grind the lentil dal coarsely adding red chilli, salt, ginger and asafoetida.
  4. Add the spinach leaves to the batter.
  5. Heat some oil in the kadai.
  6. Flatten the prepared batter in a plastic sheet.
  7. Deep fry the vadas till golden brown.
  8. Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
