Ingredients:
• 1 pack – frozen chopped Spinach
• 2 – Green chillies
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind paste
• 1/2 tbsp – Rice flour
• 2.5 cups – water
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• For seasoning:
• 1/2 tsp -fenugreek
• 1/2 tsp – mustard
• 1/2 tsp – Asafoetida
• 2 – Red Chillies
• 1/2 tsp – oil
• For garnish:
• 1 tbsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tbsp – oil.
Method:
- Cook the frozen spinach in a microwave as per directions on the pack for 4 minutes, stir it with a fork and cook for 4 more minutes.
- Heat oil in a thick deep vessel and splutter asafoetida, fenugreek, mustard seeds, red chillies.
- Add the sliced green chillies and let it fry for about 10 seconds. Add the cooked spinach and leave it on medium fire for a couple of minutes.
- Pour the water into the pan and add in the tamarind paste and turmeric.
- Add salt to taste. Let it boil for a couple of minutes.
- Mix the rice flour in some water to get a watery consistency and add it to the stew. This helps to thicken the stew a little bit.
- Remove from fire after a while.
