Ingredients:

• 500 g – Flour/maida
• 1/2 litre – Milk
• 6 tbsp -Sugar
• 1 tsp – Salt
• 200 g – Butter
• 1 cup – Warm water
• 4 -Eggs beaten
• 1 tsp – Vanilla essence
• 2 tsp – Active dry yeast.

Method:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in 1 cup of water.
  2. Combine all the ingredients together and knead into a soft dough with the dissolved yeast and milk.
  3. Use a little more water if required.
  4. Cover with a towel and set aside for 2 hours until the dough doubles in size.
  5. Punch the dough down and divide into 12 small rounds.
  6. Now shape them into loaves.
  7. Place on buttered and floured baking trays.
  8. Set aside for 45 mins to rise.
  9. Brush with beaten eggs and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
  10. Bake in a moderate oven for 45 mins.
