Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – Besan / Kadalai Maavu
• 1/2 cup – Rice flour
• 2 – Onions
• 1 tsp – Butter/ Ghee
• 1/4 tsp – Cooking soda
• 1/2 tsp – Grated Ginger
• 1 – Green chilli
• Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
• Coriander leaves – 1 small bunch
• Oil to Deep Fried
• Salt to taste.

Method:

  1. Thinly slice the onions.
  2. Mix the rice flour and besan (gram flour) in a wide bowl.
  3. Crush the green chilly in a pestle.
  4. Then combine the salt, sliced onions, grated ginger, crushed green chilly, curry leaves and coriander leaves and ghee/butter and mix well.
  5. Keep aside for 10 mins.
  6. Now heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
  7. Then sprinkle a portion of the mixture onto the oil on a medium fire until golden brown.
  8. Drain in the kitchen towel and repeat for the rest of the mixture.
  9. Serve with tea/coffee.
