Ingredients:

• For cover:
• 2 cups – soaked ponni Rice
• Rice powder, to tighten the dough
• Salt
• For filling:
• 500g – Prawns
• 3-4 – Onions
• 1 tsp each – Ginger and Garlic paste
• 3 – Green chillies
• 1 – Tomato
• 1 tsp – coriander powder and Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 – Turmeric powder
• Curry leaves, Coriander leaves

Method:

  1. For cover: Grind the soaked rice, add salt and make a tight dough using rice powder.
  2. For the filling:
  3. Fry prawns with chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  4. Keep aside.
  5. In a pan, heat oil add onions and saute till soft.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and saute till the raw smells goes.
  7. Add tomatoes and spice powders.
  8. Mix well and add the leaves and fried prawns.
  9. Allow to cool.
  10. Make medium-sized balls with the dough.
  11. Take each dough, flatten on your palm.
  12. Add the filling and roll again into small balls.
  13. Roll it in the scrapped coconut and steam till done.
