
Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – Wheat flour
• 1/2 cup – Maida flour
• 3.5 cups – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – butter/ghee
• 10 – Cashewnuts
• a pinch of salt
• 1 tsp – Orange food colour
• 2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 3 cups – water
Method:
- Melt the butter in simmering flame, fry the cashew nuts and keep away.
- Add the wheat flour to the melted butter, stir well for 5 minutes, then add the maida.
- Stir for 10 minutes.
- Add the colour powder and salt.
- Heat 3 cups of water in a pan.
- Add the hot water to the flour mixture and stir continuously.
- The flour will double in volume, turn thick like dough and get off the bottom of the kadhai.
- Add sugar and cardamom powder, then the cashews and put off the flame.
- Pour the halwa onto a plate. Serve hot or at room temperature.
