Ingredients:
• 2 cups – Wheat flour
• 1 cup – Rice flour
• 1 cup – gram flour
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – sesame seeds
• 2 tsp – Butter
• salt to taste
• oil for deep-frying
Method:
- Steam-cook the wheat flour in a cotton cloth (without adding water) for approximately 10 minutes.
- Let the flour cool. Sieve and keep aside.
- Add the rice flour, gram flour, butter, sesame seeds, red chilli powder, cumin seeds and salt together. Add the steam-cooked wheat flour. Knead a dough using enough water.
- Put small balls of the dough in a murukku press with star nozzle and squeeze out the murukkus onto a greased plate.
- Heat oil and deep-fry the murukkus in small batches.
