Ingredients:

• 1 cup – whole Wheat flour
• 1/2 cup – all-purpose flour
• 1 cup – Sugar
• 1 tsp – baking powder
• 1/2 tsp – baking soda
• 1 tsp – vanilla extract
• 2 – eggs
• 1/2 cup – custard powder
• 1/2 cup – oil (canola or sunflower)
• 1 cup – yogurt

Method:

  1. Sieve the flours, baking powder, baking soda and custard powder together and keep aside in a bowl.
  2. Beat the eggs with sugar until the mixture turns pale.
  3. Add the oil and yogurt to this mixture and beat well.
  4. Now mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix with a spatula.
  6. Do not over mix the cake batter.
  7. Preheat the oven to 325 F and generously grease a round cake mould.
  8. Pour the batter into the mould and bake for 25-30 minutes on the middle rack until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
