Ingredients:
• Yam – 500 gm
• grated Coconut – 1 cup, lightly filled
• Onion – ½ cup, finely chopped
• green chilies – 1 tsp, minced
• oil to fry
• salt – 1 tsp
Method:
- Wash and peel the yam. Cut into ½ cm cubes.
- Sprinkle with salt and keep aside for ½ hour.
- Squeeze the yam pieces tightly to drain the moisture.
- Heat oil for deep frying.
- Fry the yam pieces in batches till crisp.
- Drain on kitchen paper.
- Just before serving, toss the pieces with rest of the ingredients.
- Taste and add more salt if needed.
- Serve with steamed rice and dal.
