
Ingredients:
• Toor Dal – 1/2 cup
• Channa dal – 1/2 cup
• moong dal – 1/2 cup
• chopped Tomato – 1/2 cup
• Green chillies – 2, slit
• chilli powder – 1 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• coriander powder – 1 tsp
• cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
• ready to use Tamarind paste – 1 tsp
• Ghee or oil – 2 tbsp
• Cloves – 3
• Cardamoms – 3
• finely chopped Onion – 1/2 cup
• ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp
• Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp, chopped
• salt to taste
Method:
- Wash all the dals together and add 2.5 cups of water.
- Add all the ingredients from tomato to salt.
- Pressure cook for 20 mins.
- Then, open the cooker and mash the dal till smooth.
- Add tamarind paste.
- If the dal is too thick, add some water.
- Heat the ghee or oil in a small fry pan.
- Add cloves and cardamoms.
- Add onion and fry till golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and fry till fragrant.
- Add the contents of the fry pan to the dal.
- Mix well and simmer for 2-3 mins.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or chapatti.
