Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – mutton, washed and cut into medium pieces
• For ground masala (roast the ingredients with a few drops of oil and grind into a fine paste):
• 2 tbsp – coconut, either desiccated or fresh
• 4 – Garlic
• 2 – tomatoes, medium
• 1/2 inch – Ginger piece
• Other ingredients:
• 2 – onions, cut length wise
• 3 to 4 tsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – Haldi powder
• 2 tsp – Dhania powder
• 1.5 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1.5 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• To taste – salt
• few – Coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Take a pressure cooker and heat the oil.
  2. When it is hot, add the cut onions and lightly fry till golden colour.
  3. Now add the ground masala paste and all the powders mentioned in the ingredients.
  4. Keep stirring, till the oil starts separating from the masala.
  5. Now add the mutton, and enough water, for the meat to cook.
  6. Keep the cooker, till it gives at least 8 to 9 whistles.
  7. Remove from fire and add coriander leaves for garnishing.
