Ingredients:

• A large head of fish (Katla)- 200 g
• 1 cup – Rice
• Onion paste – 1/4 cup
• Garlic paste – 1/4 cup
• Ginger paste – 1/4 cup
• Tomato puree – 1/2 cup
• Red Chilli powder- 2 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 2 tsp
• Garam Masala powder – 2 tsp
• Dhania-Jeera powder – 2 tsp
• Lemon juice – 2 tsp
• Bay Leaf – 2
• Whole Garam Masala
• Jeera – 2 tsp
• Salt and Oil – As per requirement
• Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Clean the head and marinate it with salt and turmeric powder.
  2. Fry it till golden brown.
  3. Soak the rice for 30 minutes.
  4. Put oil in a pan. Add some jeera. When it turns brown, add bay leaves and garam masala.
  5. Then add onion paste, garlic paste, ginger paste and fry it.
  6. Add tomato puree, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, dhania-jeera powder, salt turmeric powder, lemon juice and fry it until the oil is removed.
  7. Then add the head and break it in the pan and mix all together.
  8. Now add the soaked rice and mix it properly. Cover it for 25 minutes on a slow flame.
  9. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
