Ingredients:

• 1 cup – tur dal
• 4 – drumsticks, peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces
• 2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• 2 – tomatoes, chopped
• 1 tsp – crushed Garlic
• salt to taste
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 – red chillies, broken into bits
• few Curry leaves
• 1 tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Wash the dal and cook it along with the tomato, chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and drumsticks with sufficient water in a pressure cooker.
  2. When it gets cooked open the cooker, add salt and some more water and mix well.
  3. In another vessel, heat oil and add the mustard seeds, broken red chillies and smashed garlic and fry for some time.
  4. When the mustard seeds start spluttering add it to the cooked dal.
  5. Serve with rice.
