Ingredients:

• Garbanzo Beans – 1 cup (200 grams)
• Green chilli – 1 no (optional)
• Shallots/Pearl Onion – 4 nos
• Coriander leaves – ¼ bunch
• Salt – to taste
• Lime Juice – 1 no
• Dried Mango powder – ¼ tsp (optional)

Method:

  1. Soak chickpeas overnight in boiling water.
  2. De-seed and chop chilli
  3. Finely chop onion, clean and chop coriander leaves.
  4. Pressure cook garbanzo beans to one whistle, then simmer on medium flame for 20 minutes. (If you do not use a pressure cooker, soak for 48 hours, bring to boil and simmer for about 45 minutes, I prefer it cooked to a stage till it splits open partially and is soft.) Allow to cool and drain.
  5. Mix all the above ingredients. It is ready to be served.
