Ingredients:

• 1 cup – thick Poha
• 1 tbsp – Jaggery
• 1 tsp – Tamarind paste
• 2 tsp – rasam powder
• Salt as per taste
• 3 sprigs – chopped coriander
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 4 Curry leaves
• 2 tsp – Peanuts
• A pinch – asafetida
• 1/2 tsp – Channa Urad Dal mix

Method:

  1. Crush rice flakes coarsely in a blender and keep aside.
  2. Mix jaggery, tamarind, salt and rasam powder in 2 cups of water and heat til jaggery and salt dissolves.
  3. Pour the spiced water on the crushed rice flakes to make it damp.
  4. Cover and keep aside for 15-20 mins.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and add asafoetida, curry leaves, peanuts and dal mixture and add to the rice flakes.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve.
