Ingredients:

• 1 kg – Chicken cut into medium-sized pieces
• 1 tsp – Fenugreek seeds powder
• 1 tsp – mustard powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 3 tsp – chilli powder
• 3 – green chillies, slit
• 2 tsp – chopped Garlic
• 2 tsp – chopped Ginger
• 3 onions, sliced finely
• 3 tbsp – Vinegar
• Salt to taste
• 3 tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Marinate the chicken with chilli powder, cumin powder, mustard powder, turmeric powder, fenugreek powder, vinegar and salt and keep aside for one hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions, green chillies, ginger and garlic till golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and fry well for 5 minutes.
  4. Add one cup of water and simmer on low heat with the lid on till the chicken is tender and the gravy is thick.
  5. Serve with rice or chapattis.
