Ingredients:
• 2 – eggs, well-beaten
• 4 cups – plain flour
• 1 packet – Dry yeast
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 1/4 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Milk
• 1/4 cup – melted Butter
• 1/4 cup – warm water
• For filling:
• 3 tbsp – melted Butter
• 1 cup – Sugar
• 1/4 cup – Brown sugar
• 1 tbsp – Cinnamon powder
• 1/4 cup – chopped Walnuts
• For icing:
• 3/4 cup – powdered Sugar
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
• 3 tbsp – Cream cheese
• 1 tbsp – Milk
Method:
- Dissolve the yeast in warm water and keep it for 10 minutes. Sift the flour and salt together, and keep aside. Heat the milk, and just before it comes to a boil, add salt, sugar, and butter.
- Stir it well and let it cool till it is lukewarm.
- Add the yeast mixture in milk and keep it for another 5 minutes.
- Add beaten eggs in the milk.
- Add flour mixture slowly to the milk, stirring to form a smooth dough.
- Cover and keep in a warm place for 2 hours; the dough should double.
- Punch down, and let it rise again for about 45 minutes until nearly double.
- In a small bowl, mix together sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon powder.
- Roll the dough out into rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Brush the dough with melted butter.
- Sprinkle the sugar mixture over it. Top with chopped walnuts.
- Roll the dough from top edge to bottom edge.
- Pinch the ends to seal.
- Cut the roll into 10 to 12 slices.
- Place them 6 at a time on a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until light brown.
- In a bowl, mix all the ingredients of icing.
- Beat with electric mixture till fluffy.
- Drizzle the icing over the top of each roll.
