Ingredients:
• Raw Rice (cooking Rice) – 1/2 cup
• Sugar – 1 cup
• Milk – 4 cups
• Cashew halves – 10
• Raisins – 10
• Powdered Cardamom – 1/4 tsp
Method:
- Wash rice and drain. Mix rice along with sugar and milk.
- Put all these in a pressure cooker.
- Cook this with the weight on, on medium flame till you hear 2 to 3 whistles.
- Now, change to very low flame and allow it to slow cook for 20 minutes.
- Once all the steam has subsided, open the lid.
- Fry cashew halves and raisins in butter or ghee and add it in to the payasam (kheer).
- Finally, add cardamom powder and mix well.
