Ingredients:

• 1 – Lemon (Big in size)
• 1/4 tbsp – Turmeric powder
• 5 – Green chillies
• 1/4 inch – Ginger
• 1 tbsp – Salt
• 1.5 cup – Rice
• For Seasoning:
• 1/2 tbsp – Mustard
• 1 tbsp – Channa Dal
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• Oil for seasoning

Method:

  1. Extract the juice from the lemon.
  2. Add the turmeric powder and salt to the juice.
  3. Cut the chillies and the ginger into small pieces.
  4. Heat oil in pan.
  5. Add mustard, channa dal and asafetida.
  6. As the channa dal turns golden brown, add the lemon juice.
  7. Allow to boil for 3 to 4 minutes and let it cool.
  8. Boil the rice with less water so that the grains are separate from each other.
  9. Add the prepared lemon syrup to the rice evenly and serve.
