Ingredients:
• 1 cup – broken Wheat
• 1/2 cup – water
• 3/4th cup – grated Coconut
• 1/2 to 3/4 cup – melted and sieved Jaggery
• 1/4 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 1/2 tsp – oil
Method:
- Soak broken wheat in 1/2 cup of water for 2 hours.
- Make a smooth paste of grated coconut in a small mixer bowl.
- Sprinkle 1 – 2 tbsp of water when making the paste.
- In a bowl, mix together soaked broken wheat, coconut paste and jaggery. Do not add extra water to it.
- Grease a steel thali with 1/2 tsp of oil.
- Pour this broken wheat-jaggery-coconut mixture and steam cook it in a steamer or pressure cooker for 20 – 25 minutes until it is done.
- Remove it and set it aside to cool for half-an-hour.
- Cut it into desired shapes and sizes.
