Ingredients:

• 1 cup – tur dal ( soak it for 1/2 hr and cook it with little pinch of Turmeric separately )
• 1 Onion ( cut into small cubes)
• 1 bunch of Palak ( clean it and cut )
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind pulp
• 2 Green chillies (chopped)
• a pinch of Red Chilli powder (optional)
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2tsp – jeera/rai
• 1tsp – Ginger Garlic paste (optional )
• 10-15 Curry leaves
• 1tsp – wet Coconut powder(optional)
• 1tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Now add jeera, rai, curry leaves, chopped green chillies, ginger garlic paste, onion cubes and keep stirring till onion turn little brown.
  2. Next add turmeric, red chilli powder and then add palak keep frying till the oil gets separated.
  3. Now add the tamarind pulp and little water. Let it simmer. After this, add the cooked dal and mix it with palak properly.
  4. Add a cup of water to form a nice gravy dal.
