Ingredients:
• 1 cup – tur dal ( soak it for 1/2 hr and cook it with little pinch of Turmeric separately )
• 1 Onion ( cut into small cubes)
• 1 bunch of Palak ( clean it and cut )
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind pulp
• 2 Green chillies (chopped)
• a pinch of Red Chilli powder (optional)
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2tsp – jeera/rai
• 1tsp – Ginger Garlic paste (optional )
• 10-15 Curry leaves
• 1tsp – wet Coconut powder(optional)
• 1tbsp – oil
Method:
- Heat oil in a kadai. Now add jeera, rai, curry leaves, chopped green chillies, ginger garlic paste, onion cubes and keep stirring till onion turn little brown.
- Next add turmeric, red chilli powder and then add palak keep frying till the oil gets separated.
- Now add the tamarind pulp and little water. Let it simmer. After this, add the cooked dal and mix it with palak properly.
- Add a cup of water to form a nice gravy dal.
