Ingredients:

• 1 Vazhaipoo (Banana Flower).
• 2 tsp Chana Dal (Kadalai Paruppu).
• 2 tsp Toor Dal (Tuvaram Paruppu).
• 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds (Kadugu).
• 1/4 tsp Urad Dal (Ulutham Paruppu).
• 3 Red Chillies.
• 1 Pinch Asafoetida.
• Salt to Taste.
• oil.

Method:

  1. Soak channa dal, toor dal in hot water for about 1 hour.
  2. Cut vazhaipoo petals into small pieces. Boil in water for 5 minutes and drain.
  3. Grind the dals with red chillies, salt and asafoetida in a blender, without water.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add mustard seeds and urad dal.
  5. Add the ground dal paste when the seeds splutter. Stir until the mixture crumbles.
  6. Add the vazhaipoo (or any other vegetable). Stir for five minutes and take off fire.
