Ingredients:

• 2 cups – green Tomatoes (chopped)
• 1/2 cup – yellow split moong dal
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – pepper powder
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbsp – Coconut oil
• A few sprigs – Curry leaves
• 1/4 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 – dry Red Chillies
• 1/4 tsp – Cumin seeds

Method:

  1. Dry roast yellow split moong dal until golden brown.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add moong dal, chopped green tomatoes, turmeric powder and pepper powder with enough water.
  3. Pressure cook until 3 whistles and turn off the stove.
  4. Mash the gravy and add water if needed to adjust the consistency of the curry.
  5. Heat coconut oil, add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  6. Add dry chillies and cumin seeds.
  7. Add the tempered spices to the curry.
