
Ingredients:
• For waffles:
• 2 cups – plain flour
• 2 tbsp – Butter
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 tsp – baking powder
• 1/4 tsp – baking soda
• Butter to drizzle
• For Stewed Strawberries:
• 500 g – strawberries
• 1/2 cup – Brown sugar
• 1/4 cup – Sugar
• 1/4 cup – Orange juice
Method:
- Mix all ingredients for waffles.
- Add 1/2 cup of milk, mix to a smooth batter.
- Consistency should be thick enough to coat back of spoon.
- Grease and heat waffle iron.
- Pour 1 tbsp. batter in waffle iron for each waffle case.
- Close, cook till waffles are crisp, fluffy.
- Carefully remove from iron.
- Place two waffles in individual serving plate.
- Heat sugar, juice, all other ingredients for stew.
- Transfer to a baking dish.
- Bake till sugar starts to sizzle.
- Take out of oven, pour a dollop of stew on waffles.
- Serve hot or warm with warmed waffles.
