Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – Wheat flour
• 1/2 cups – gram flour
• 1.5 tsp – chilli powder
• 1 tbsp – oil
• salt to taste
• 1/2 – Turmeric powder
• 2-3 pinches of Asafoetida
• 1/2 tsp each of Cuminutes and Oregano seeds
• finely chopped coriander
• 1 tbsp water
Method:
- Knead the ingredients into a slightly stiff dough, and cover with a wet cloth.
- Break off bits and make small ping pong-sized balls, and roll to 3-4 mm thickness.
- Roast on griddle (tawa) like you would a phulka.
- Or, once the brown spots appear, place directly on the flame and puff, with the help of tongs.
- Apply ghee or butter and serve hot with sweetened mango preserve (chunda), curds or jam.
