Ingredients:
• For pattice:
• 1 cup – Corn kernels
• 2 – boiled Potatoes
• 1 tbsp – ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tsp – Green chillies
• 1 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Haldi
• 1 tsp – Jeera powder
• salt
• For frankie:
• 1 cup – Maida
• water
• chopped Onion (optional)
• oil
• salt
• For chutney:
• 1/4 cup – Mint leaves
• 1 cup – Cilantro
• 2-3 – chillies
• 1/4 tsp – Jeera
• salt
Method:
- Method for making patties:
- Boil corn kernels (you can use fresh corn too, boil it and remove kernels).
- Mash the kernels well.
- Add boiled potatoes, ginger-garlic paste and spices.
- Take the mixture and make a small patties out of it and shallow fry them and keep aside.
- Method for making frankie:
- Make a dough out of maida, salt and water like the chapatti dough.
- Roll into small chapattis.
- Roast them on a tava on both sides.
- You can also use tortillas if you want.
- Method for making chutney: Prepare mint chutney by mixing chutney ingredients and grinding it.
- To make the makai frankie:
- Take a roti and spread mint chutney on it.
- Place 2 patties in between, mash a little and add some chopped onion (optional).
- Roll the roti by joining both ends and shallow fry them till it is crisp on both sides .
- While serving, cut the frankie into halves and serve with chutney.
- You can also serve it with tamarind chutney.
